Concerns about money affecting the mental health of 9.5m Brits, research finds
Recent research to coincide with World Mental Health Day has found that around 9.5 million people in the UK are suffering from mental health issues as a result of worrying about their finances.
The report, conducted by N26, a mobile bank, revealed the extent to which issues with money have impacted on the mental health of people in the UK, with a third of those who worry about money also struggling to sleep at night.
The research also found that those between the ages of 25 and 34 appeared to be affected the most by money worries, with up to 40% of this age group reporting to have disruption to their sleep as a result of financial concerns.
Those aged between 18 and 24 were found to be mostly worried about student debts (33% of respondents) and saving for a house (48%).
The charity MIND supports people who are struggling with mental illness, including those with money worries, and they provide free advice on their website to help those struggling with money.
Unfortunately, mental health issues do often go hand in hand with financial issues, and Bretts Business Recovery are proud to be supporting MIND as our chosen charity this year for the great work they do to support people affected by both these issues.
